Sahara Hotnights

Es una banda de rock originaria de Robertsfors, Suecia que se formó entre los años 1991-1992.

En 1995 ganaron una batalla de bandas en la cual pudieron grabar sus canciones, lanzando su primer EP, Suit Anyone Fine,en 1997, el cual se convirtió en un éxito inmediato, obtuviendo buenas críticas en Europa. Al firmar con el sello discográfico sueco Speech Records lanzaron tres sencillos más: Face Wet, Oh Darling y Nothing Yet.

En 1999 lanzaron su primer álbum llamado C´mon Let´s Pretend,que obtuvo dos nominaciones a los Grammys. Actualmente esta banda sigue vigente, cuyo último álbum que lanzaron fue Sparks en el 2009, el cual eran de covers.

Curiosidades:
* El nombre de la banda era el nombre de un caballo de carreras que Josephine Forsman había apostado.

The Donnas

Para la inaguración del blog empezaré por mi banda favorita que se llama The Donnas, estas chicas rockeras son mi placer culpable xD aquí les dejaré una breve reseña de ellas.

Ellas empezaron en Palo Alto Junior School en el norte de California, formaron la banda a la edad de 13 años en 1993 bajo las influencias de Kiss, Motley Crue y The Ramones.

Era la única banda femenina donde ellas vivían, siendo desconocidas hasta terminar sus estudios de secundaria. Ellas componían su propia música y ensayaban todos los días después del colegio en el garage de Torry (baterista).

La banda pasó por varios nombres como: Screen, Ragady Anne, y The Electrocutes, hasta decidirse por el nombre The Donnas.

Antes de lanzar su disco "Gold Medal" en el 2004, dieron a conocer sus nombres reales, ya que antes solo se daban a conocer como Donna seguido con la primera letra de su apellido.
